The General Practice Foundation at the RCGP Annual ConferenceGPF Logo

With the launch of the General Practice Foundation in April this year, the RCGP Annual Conference is the perfect opportunity to bring Foundation Members together and it is set to be a brilliant event! This year’s Conference is focused on growing healthy and sustainable partnerships, a value which is at the heart of the Foundation’s purpose. The Conference represents an exciting time for primary care as it highlights the investments that are being made in the primary care team as a whole.

Nurses, managers and physician assistants will find a broad range of programme streams which are relevant to their profession. These sessions will grapple with some hot topics, giving you the chance to voice your opinion and gain a deeper understanding of the matters that are prevalent in primary care. There will be a range of different types of sessions, some which will be more clinical and factual and others which will be based on discussion and ideasGPF Launch 2009. There will also be the chance to have some fun at the Gala Dinner and Comedy Evening!

Not only are there many exciting benefits, but there are also heavily reduced rates for General Practice managers, nurses and physician assistants:

Stream event F4: Avoiding employment tribunals

Stream event G5: Doing things differently with IT in the practice

Kathie Applebee, Psychologist, Management Consultant and Practice Principal

Practice managers need access to a range of software, some of which may be difficult or impossible to access via the practice network. Is there a case for all Practice Managers to have their own laptop to use at work? This session reviews some of the IT tools and programs (not programmes) that can help practices and also support the practice management workload.

Practice management workshop

This is a 3-hour pre-bookable workshop. One of the topics will be problem solving (with Hilary Haman, Independent Management Adviser and trainer in primary healthcare, Cardiff).
