Background

The College has run an annual Spring Symposium for many years which was hosted by a different RCGP faculty each year in a different location. The Spring Symposium meetings have been extremely valued over the years but declining numbers of delegates have resulted in the College taking the decision to hold the last Spring Symposium in 2005, which was held in Blackpool and hosted by the NW England Faculty.

In 2007, the College developed a new and exciting event in the form of the Annual National Conference on Primary Care. The aim was to establish this as the annual event for the College, general practice and for primary care.  As well as providing opportunity to hear about principal developments in general practice and primary care, the conference provided an opportunity for College members and other members of the primary care team across the UK to network and to learn from one another.

The first Annual National Conference, held in October 2007 in Edinburgh was a huge success and was extremely well attended.

The 2008 conference will be held in Bournemouth from 2-4 October.

We look forward to seeing you there.
